Keeper of My Heart

Your job is a noble one indeed,
Please honor it always, this I plead,
This is a job that will require constant care,
Day and night you must always be there,
You are fully qualified for the task at hand,
When I fall down you help me to stand,
When tears touch my face,
You lead me to a better place,

You are to always be attentive, so you will know when something's amiss,
When this occurs your try your best to right the wrongs, and always remember this,
You are the protector of a precious possession,
This includes listening to its every confession,
As you do so use an understanding ear,
Try to remember those special things you hear,
Some of the tools of your trade are a tender touch and warm embrace,
And don't ever be afraid to use that smile on your face,

But your duties extend further than keeping sorrows at bay,
You must also bestow happiness each and every day,
All of these things outline only but the start,
For your job is, to be the keeper of my heart.
